Mr Burgess received his BA from the University of South Africa (Unisa). He was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Joint Constitutional Review, the Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services and the Portfolio Committee on Justice & Constitutional Development. Mr Burgess also practices law, previously having worked as a human rights attorney and currently serving as a practicing attorney for Burgess & Associates.
